FHPS to host interclub in 2021

This year it is FHPS’ turn to host the annual Western Cape Interclub Competition. This was hosted last year by Durbanville Fotografieklub who were highly successful in managing the event under very trying circumstances (enter The Dreaded Lurgi). It is scheduled to take place on Friday 29 October and the good news is that it will take place in the comfort of your own home, by way of good old Zoom! In the past, one needed to schlep all the way to the Sanlam Centre in Bellville, which meant driving over the mountain in shoes and socks etc!

All paid up members who have entered images over the year and who’s images have scored 13 and above are considered for entry into this prestigious competition. This is an opportunity for our members to, not only pit themselves against the best in the Western Cape, but to boost FHPS standing in the club competition.

Arrangements are at an early stage yet and we will post updates as we progress. Anyone who feels they can contribute a skill or service in this regard is more than welcome to contact Keith for further information.

We would like to be in a position to award meaningful prizes to the various category winners and any kind of sponsorship will help us to make it memorable. As the event will be in virtual format we were thinking along the lines of non-tangible items like: free fine art lessons, or how to shoot birds in flight, etc. Physical items like bottles of wine or memory cards will of course always be welcome. So start calling in those favours folks!
